The review below from Dennis Goldsmith now makes more sense to me. I spoke with Monique today about a construction loan. I guess my questions were too much for her because she got irritated and it clearly showed over the phone. Not professional! I will take Dennis's advise and go elsewhere.

Marie has been amazing these are hard times for a lot of people and my corespondents with Marie has been exceptional. She’s kind, polite, understanding and relatable. She made me feel comfortable, respected and heard. I would recommend her as a banker and their bank as a company. If I could give more than five stars I would!!! Thank You WaFD

I am a fairly new customer, however, I have been several times. Every time that I have been in they have made me feel so welcome. The tellers, banker and manager are very friendly and helpful. One banker in particular went out of her way to help me with my problem. I am very pleased with this bank.

My only experience with Washington Federal has been trying to acquire a construction loan through them, and that experience was absolutely abysmal. We went through the credit check process, which took ridiculously long (there were times when the general manager promised to give us a call with an update by the end of the day, and we were lucky to hear back by the end of the week), and after pestering them for 3-4 months, finally got denied. We were told to reapply the following month, and that we would almost certainly be approved. The next month we reapplied, went through the whole process again, took another few months of dealing with their general manager's horrible communication and customer service skills, only to be denied again for an issue they knew about since the first time we applied.
We then went to One AZ credit union, applied and were approved within a two week time period, and received a loan within a month. Stay away from Washington Federal.

We bank at the Prescott Valley branch and couldn't be happier. Banking with a small bank definitely has its advantages as the employees greet us by name as we enter and when we have a problem we call the branch and they are quick to help.

Monique is the kindest and friendliest banker that we have ever met. That type of person is a rarity in these times. What is even more important is that she knows her bank's products and explains them so that customer can maximize their return. Thank you for all your help. Phil and Jane

I do banking with WaFd on behalf of the company I work for. This bank treats you as a valued customer. They get to know you and greet you by name. Excellent customer service and friendly staff.

Great bank, services and friendly. It's nice to be greeted by name when I walk in or drive up. I've referred a few other businesses and friends, and none have been upset with my referal.
