My husband banks here and wants me to write a review on his behalf since he does not use these forums. Jeanette Wesson the bank manager is incompetent when handling customers that she rips off. $30 late fees 3 times in one month. The first 2 were taken out 2 hours after a bill came out and was cleared up very same day. This last time the fee putting account into overdraft was caught immediately and we rushed to the bank to clear it up. 2 days later, $30 overdraft fee again though account was positive. Manager was no help and said she didn’t care because my husbands attitude was abusive because he cussed. She talked over him to begin with and was rude from the start. Ultimately refused to help him figure out the situation. DO NOT BANK HERE!!!

I was thinking about setting up an account here, but after just one phone call to ask some questions, I’ve decided to find a different bank. The woman that picked up the phone was rude, talked over me, did not answer my questions, raised her voice and seemed annoyed to even be bothered.

My most recent experience with WaFd Bank prompted me to write a five-star review. My personal experience was way above and beyond my expectations. Not only was the problem solved efficiently, but the source of the problem was also explored, discovered, and will be rectified so that it will not occur again to me or anyone else.
My account was transferred when Bank of America sold the Show Low branch to Washington Federal. Since then I have had some problems, misunderstandings, glitches, etc. Most were satisfactorily resolved by a single phone call. Two required a visit to the local branch. Overall, my experience was satisfactory as all the issues were addressed and solved to my satisfaction. Most were routine. The few that were not routine were handled beyond my expectations, such as my most recent experience. I was so happy with the solution that I asked the Branch Manager for the best place to post a review.
I usually do not post reviews. I know that nothing is perfect, so I always contact the business for a solution. In this case, I made an exception for services above and beyond the call of duty.
I read the WaFd (Washington Federal) reviews here on Fri 2021-12-03 and found that every poor review was given the opportunity to redress their grievances, but never bothered to post a follow-up. In my opinion, this invalidates many of the negative reviews as they may have been solved to the satisfaction of the person that posted the review.

We were in need of a small, additional, and simple checking account. We met with Samantha Richards and she helped us with service that was over and above what was expected. A couple of days later we met with Jeannette Wesson for some notary work and again the service was 100%+. If you are looking for a bank that will go above and beyond the expected service...don't go anywhere else...STOP HERE!!!!... 5 Stars are not enough.

My card was stolen moments before I was to board my flight. Brittany Johnson was incredible in helping lock my accounts and getting my money transferred to a new account. She went way above and beyond, monitoring the account while I was out of the country, notifying me if there was any activity and giving me such peace of mind! Thank you Brittany and WAFed!!

We moved to the area and were in the market for a new bank. One visit to this bank, and there's no way we would ever bank here. THREE Attendants sitting around doing nothing, and they only notarize in the afternoon after 3pm. So you need an appointment for something that will take 5 mins because they need to continue sitting there doing nothing. We drove in from Springerville and sat in road construction for an additional 20mins. I needed to use the restroom BADLY, and the Attendant insisted they don't have public restrooms. After a back and forth, my husband asked, "Are you really going to let her pee her pants?" Only then was I reluctantly allowed to use the restroom. Not exactly the kind of customer service or empathy I'd like from a bank. So we will look elsewhere. I guess I understand now why the parking lot is almost empty...they don't actually want customers.
