I had been shopping for a refinance for my home. I had filled out applications from four companies to get the best deal. Just as I was about to make my selection I received an email through my work that there was a special mortgage financing deal for just for teachers. So, as a teacher with very good credit, I responded to the email and got some figures over the phone from Derwin that were better than the other big companies including Quicken Loans. So I discussed it over with my family and showed them the other four companies mortgages and how Capital Loan Associates was much better. However, my family asked why I did not have an actual printed out paper from Capital Loan Associates. I told them that Derwin gave me figures over the phone but did not send anything to print out. So I asked Derwin if he could send me the exact figures on paper. He said he could only if I would complete an actual application. So two weeks has past and I finally have Derwin taking my application over the phone. I did not have any issue with this as Derwin had explained over the two weeks that he was making a transition to reopen the Las Vegas branch and was very busy. Derwin was very polite the entire time and always offered apologies for delays and unprofessionalism, I have nothing but good things to say about him. So I had just given him all of my information over the phone on my current mortgage, income, employment, social security number etc... We are about to end the call he tells me that his company, Capital Loan Associates will be charging me for a credit report and that I will be billed for the credit report if I end up going with one of my other mortgage companies. None of the other four companies charged me. These whole entire past two weeks I have been waiting were just so that I could get these figures in front of me on paper because it sounded too good to be true. If the figures were not correct, then of course I would go with one of the other four companies!!! Ultimately, Capital Loan Associates was a HUGE WASTE OF TIME! Yes, they will quote you with the best deal over the phone, but as soon as you are ready to do the mortgage, they pull deceitful practices. Don't bother with these jokers!

Joe Flannigan was so helpful and patient every step of the process. I even canceled the deal because my friends thought I could get a better deal. I tried to do better and couldn’t do better, even with another friend who works at a bank. The process was way easier than all those never ending online applications. It was phone conversations and emails with a nice professional and informative guy and his positive and helpful assistant Peggy. Besides Joe getting it all done in time for us to hold onto our rate lock, her polite persistence was one of the major factors that helped us save money every month for the next 30 years. My schedule is so busy and I would have not gotten this all done without her kind prompts every step of the way. Being on the East coast and them on the West coast meant I could ask questions after my work and he would still be at the office. However, he also would answer questions in the early afternoon too. He also let me handle working it out my husband. I have had companies say that we both had to be there for every step of the process. With our opposite schedules being able to just relay info to my husband was so helpful and convenient. I will never know if there was some magical deal I missed but I don’t know anyone who is saving more than we did. Also, I can’t imagine having an easier time with the process. I guess I will see when I have to make the new payments how it goes. I will revise this if something crazy happens. As for now any bad reviews must be from people on here who did Not work with Joe and Peggy.

I worked with Joe Flanagan both on the original financing on my home 2 years ago, and on the refinance last month He gave me plenty of options and was persistent and patient in giving me the help I needed. The rate was as good as any offered and the costs were very competitive.
What impressed me most is that even after we had settled the financing, Joe was able to shave another .125% off of the rate. Between that and how easy and clear he made the process, I have no problem recommending his services.

One of my greatest joys in life is watching people on their "A" game. Joe Flanagin from Capital Loan Associates, was definitely on his A game. He was very knowledgeable, available, and professional. He walked me through the purchase of my first home with ease and confidence. I would recommend him to anyone looking to purchase a home.

Ihave been working with Ciara Murray on the refinance of our house. At the time, Capital Loan Associates was the 4th company I contacted about refinance and I have been truly lucky to get Ciara. My previous communication with loan officers left a lot to be desired: the first company could offer us 0.5% lower rate than what we had in our mortgage at the time, but failed to articulate that with the closing costs the refinance will only pay off in 20+years; the second company had a loan officer that liked to do a lot of small talk but had no idea what he was doing, quoting us closing costs that at disclosure agreement happened to be 3.5K on top of what was discussed, charging fees for better interest without telling in advance, and then having no idea when the closing will actually take place and at which rate - overall wasting our time; and the third company had a loan officer that will simply not respond to questions (not to mention high closing costs and not so great interest rate). Ciara has been a blessing. She knows the refinance inside and out, her closing estimates are exact, she is fast, responsive, professional, she delivers on all of her promises, not to mention got us a rate that was the best among all 4 places we tried. Working with her through our refinance has been a breeze and we closed very fast without any unexpected surprises or delays. When comparing closing costs, I will be frank that Capital Loan has slightly higher origination fees than some other places, however they shop for the title company, and if you are uninitiated, this gives you Lots of savings. The total closing costs with them as a result ended up lower than the costs quoted to me at other places AND with a better rate AND with high efficiency and no surprises. I highly recommend Ciara.
