Talking to bankers is scary and sometimes embarrassing because it feels like my financial screw ups, dumb or not so smart financial decisions are in their faces to be judged. The guys at First Southwest Bank are awesome! They treated me with dignity and like a human being. If you are a small business owner or a minority looking to talk to bankers about your business growth/goals and don't want to be treated like a number like big banks do? Contact the guys at First Southwest Bank, they would at least make time to talk to you, listen to your concerns and even give you recommendations that will help your financial situation. The guys at First Southwest Bank also made me feel comfortable and treated me as though they knew me before our first meeting. I am grateful and strongly recommend First Southwest Bank to women or and minority business owners as it is usually very difficult for us to find banks or bankers who are willing to talk to us or listen to our concerns.

I've been a customer with First Southwest Bank for a few months now. Their customer service is excellent! They are quick to answer questions and resolve any concerns I have. In the branch, I'm greeted with some of the most sophisticated representatives who listen with interest, speak with candor, and act with integrity. A huge thank you to Mariana and Swarvosk. I highly recommend the two; very knowledgeable and friendly.

First Southwest Bank is awesome! They are one of the few community banks left and they give generously in corporate sponsorship funds in support of the DOERS. I have always been impressed by their president and CEO, Kent Curtis. He is a creative/strategic thinker and can get loan deals done using his CDFI Bank connections and funding when others can't. I have always been treated with respect when in their lobby and I have recommended them to many friends. If you are looking for a great bank - don't pass this one up. - Angie Beach

First Southwest Bank is our hero! We finalized our PPP loan this morning. From the second we reached out to let them know we were interested in applying, they were in constant contact with updates and information as it became available. We worked with several different people during the process and they all went above and beyond! My company has been with FSWB for many years, and their staff & programs for small business are exceptional. Paul and Charlene are fantastic loan officers who have helped us in each step of growing our business.
Special praise to Christina Butler, who is so helpful and responsive on the payment processing end that we consider her part of our core team. We generally panic when we have technology issues, until we talk to Chris and she tells us we don’t have to worry because she’s on the case!

I have had enduring issues trying to access my account from the first day I enrolled with First Southwest Bank. When I completed the creation of my account in person at a local branch, I requested that an online banking account be created so that I would be able to view my balance, make transfers between accounts, etc. I was given a temporary ID and password to complete the setup of my online banking account. The temporary login information I was given did not work, the system notified me that the account could not be located. I called the local branch to seek assistance in setting up my online login and was told that I would have to take time off of work to visit a local branch in person. I have also had my debit card frozen almost weekly since opening my account with FSWB. However, when I make the 30 minute drive into town and check my balance at the ATM, my account has more than enough funds to cover the charge that lead to my card being frozen. I recommend a more modern and accessible bank for those who can’t, or don’t want to take unnecessary time out of their work schedule to only receive assistance when the bank is open. Other banks offer a timely phone service, online service, and other means of accessing your account. FSWB lacks the capability to deliver such a service. I have no means of accessing my account without having to take time off of work to visit the local branch in person. So far, I have lost several thousand dollars in work time lost by having to maneuver around the schedule of this bank.

UPDATE - withdrew all my money and they gave me a counterfeit hundred dollar bill. I’ve now wasted 8 hours and $100 on this worthless bank.
I’ve never had a worse banking experience. Customer of 2+ years and I’ve never just had a great interaction with the bank.
Employees are alright, the bank itself is an absolute joke.
Go anywhere but here. Community Banks Of Colorado has always treated me right.
