For the most part, Colorado East Bank & Trust is an okay place to bank. However, they have poor customer service. Thursday my card was declined at a store I've used it at several times. I had over $1,000 in my account at the time and the transaction was only for $35, why was it being declined? The store said that it was probably just there machine so that's what I went with. On Saturday, when my bank is closed, I tried using my card at the local gas station and Wal-Mart where it was declined. Now, I really know something is wrong.
Monday, when the banks open, I call to find out what the problem is. I am told that there was possible fraud, my card has been blocked, and that I need to call the number on the back to verify the activity. When I call the number on the back, a receptionist answers and then informs me that they don't open for two more minutes and to call back! If you aren't open and aren't going to help me, don't answer the phone.
When I call back, I am informed that my card wasn't just blocked but that it was deactivated and I would have to order another and wait 7 to 10 business days to get it. I was of course unhappy and asked why this happened, why wasn't I notified? The lady then went on to tell me how it was for my own protection. I informed her that I have worked at a financial institution for over five years and I understand that if fraud is suspected that the company will put a hold on the card until they can get in touch with me to verify the transactions. This did not happen! No one tried to notify me at all! What if I was out of town? What if I was getting ready to go on vacation and I have to wait to get my new card all because of they didn't want to take the time to notify me?!
To summarize, my card was deactivated with out my notification and when I called to get help with it was told they didn't open for two minutes and to call back then. This should have never happened and they weren't at all concerned about making it better or making sure it didn't happen again. That is the worst customer service for a bank!

An average small town bank. Tellers are ok. Update 8/8/23: Erica, bank teller, absolutely goes above and beyond! Found 2 expensive subscriptions I'd forgotten about. Erica brought them to my attention. I'll be forever grateful. Thank you Erica! Update: Erica's client service sets the standard. This young Lady found yet ANOTHER discrepancy, brought it to my attention, and later used her precious time on a conference call with myself and a rep from the subscription company. Erica kept an eye on my account to make sure the money was refunded to my account. Wow. Erica and TBK Bank will have my business for years to come. A serious problem was found and corrected by Erica. She deserves to be recognized and rewarded for always going above and beyond. I really hope the big bosses read this.
