Central Pawn - Guns and Ammo, Lake Placid, FL

Went in to take a look around, saw several items that interested me. I had every intention of spending a couple hundred dollars on particular gun parts. I'm not sure if the owner is just naturally sarcastic but his response to my question about a particular rifle was enough for me to walk out. I'm aware that my few hundred purchase, or lack there of, will not break their business. However I can assure you I'll never be back and will advise anyone I know to avoid this shop.

I’m new to the area and frequent pawnshops for DVDs and other things I collect. You never know what you will find in one. So I came in and met the owner who was not in a good mood. I saw a certain rifle and asked him about it and he explained that certain guns on display were not for sale. I was wanting to clarify the model and he came over and took a yellow highlighter and used it on the small card on the wall that said guns not for sale as opposed to answering my simple question. I’ve worked pawn shops and you always try to be cordial to build your customer base instead of irritating someone to the point where they go home and write a negative review. All he had to do was answer a question.

This wonderful gun & pawn shop is run by the kindest, most helpful, & positive Christian couples in this entire state, Andy & Alex! Andy sold me my first gun for a great discounted price, but not only did I purchase a super gun, but gained a fantastic Christian friend whose love of the Lord & his willingness to witness & pray with me made a "lasting impression". Likewise, his best friend, beautiful partner & wife, Alex, who runs the pawn shop, exudes love, compassion & her heart is open to everyone as she witnesses her faith in Jesus Christ! Stop in if you want to experience joy, peace & unconditional love, and/or need prayer, along with fantastic buys! Wonderful place to do business! Great people who are so friendly, helpful and honest. I would not do business anywhere else. They are happy to see you even if you are just stopping by to say hello!! The person on here with the long, poorly written review needs to continue taking his business to Capital Pawn because he is rude and unkind. The lady, who is the owner, is one of the nicest people I have ever met! And if he really did make her cry that REALLY pisses me off! Someone with that attitude needs to stay home!

My go to place for work items as well as birthday gifts and holiday gifts. I have never had a bad experience there. Alex is absolutely 💯 wonderful and her husband is very helpful and knowledgeable as well. They will bend over backwards to make sure that you find what you are looking for. I give a huge shout out to them and thank you for all of yalls hard work throughout the years...I always love our visits ❤
