I walked in to Fifth-Third Bank to notify the bank that I was leaving the country for an international vacation. Right away, the staff was rude, unfriendly and unprofessional. The response from the teller was a little intense as she said in a condescending manner“ no, no, no, corporate tells us that you do not need to notify the bank, is there anything else?”. I have traveled internationally many times and this is never the case, for if my card automatically were to register a transaction in South America, I would hope 5/3 would catch that as “usual activity” as I live in Florida, and without prior consent, should block that transaction.
Anyway, I then asked the teller “while I am here, I would like to activate a 5/3rd credit card, since my old one expired”. I had the card with me, and the bank did not have to order a new one or anything. The teller then rudely responded ”we can’t do that, you have to go online an use the app. Of corse I can use the app, but her statement is not true, bank staff can activate credit cards at the bank location site. I then told the teller that I drove to the bank for a reason and I would like you to activate the card please. The teller then called the number, told me she didn’t have time to hold it to her ear, handed me the phone across the upfront teller desk to wait on hold, and than proceeded to talk to the other teller while I stood there completely confused. The above teller then proceeded to comment to the other teller mentioning how annoying it was that I requested an activation. This was said in front of other customers as well. After someone from corporate approved my card on the phone some 3 minutes later, I set the phone on the counter and told the teller. She just continued to ignore me and the phone remained there, beeping ( I could not hang it up for it was over the counter” as I walked out I could here the same teller mentioning “ how perfect, now I don’t have to answer the phone”. 5/3, what kind of customer service is this? Clearly corporate is not concerned about events like this at the following location, due to the location having a 2.4 star review on here at the time of me typing this. Due to the above, I will be leaving 5/3 bank as a customer, and I have been one for over 10 years.

I visited the fifth third bank on Venice Avenue and spoke to Patience. She said she couldn’t help me set up a VA fiduciary account for my mom. So I went to the Fifth Third Bank on Jacaranda and spoke to Ashley. She fixed me right up with an account so that I could handle my moms VA pension. I will never use the Venice branch ever again. Only the branch and Jacaranda

I unfortunately had to deal with the branch manager Reva this morning. Unbelievably poor customer service. I asked 3 separate times if I could work with someone else. She would not have that and continued to treat me terrible.

Recently did a re-finance through this branch & have to say it was an absolute nightmare throughout the entire process . 3 weeks later & I am still dealing with mistakes made by Fifth Third resulting in hours of labor on my end to fix. My representative there, "Ken Strosnider" was absolutely useless. Never a single returned call despite leaving voicemail after voicemail. No one from Fifth Third even showed up at my closing or called me after to see how things went. Emailed the branch manager to advise & never got a response from her either. No thank you, no nothing. Do yourself a favor & obtain your mortgage else where from a company that does their job & is thankful to have your business.

I recently recieved a pay card for my part-time job at Party City. My managers told me to go to any mastercard bank and (in-person) I can get the money out of my bank. Traveling to my hometown, I called my normal Fifth Third to ask them questions and make sure I was following the exact instructions.
I decided to stop at a closer Fifth Third to pull the money out.
Upon arriving, I admittedly walked in with a glare from the employee at the front desk. She snarled at me as I walked up and said (as qouted) “can I help you or are you lost?”. I explained my situation with the pay card and she declined to assist me in pulling money out. I was desperate, so I asked if she had an atm I could go to. She sent me outside, to the drive thru atm. I explained that my ride dropped me off as he went to get gas next door and asked if she had a different option (as it is illegal to send someone out on foot through a drive-thru). She said “no, sorry. Be careful though, cars drive fast here” (with an incredibly disgusting attitude).
I ended up going and was charged to use the atm (where if she assisted me I would have all the money out of the card and not a single charge- like the Fifth Third Associate I called explained). However, as I was walking out she laughed and said this to the person working with her “no wonder she works at Party City”.
I have never felt more disrespected in my life. She refused to tell me her name, but it’s safe to say that the “security” you are supposed to make card-holders feel was violated.

Worst of the worst Banks they will pay Comcast bill that has no money in it but when you have money in the account they will deny you to pay a credit card then they blame people should find another bank where they are much happier.
