The staff at this location are always friendly and helpful, and unlike the credit unions of a decade ago, the debit card works anywhere in the nation fee free. Parking here is reasonable, though it is a sharp turn off of a busy (for big island) street, and getting back on the road you need to accelerate up a inconveniently steep slope.
I have had some problems with the online banking service interruptions or mal-functions (better over the years, but worse than the major banks), the printer for making debit cards with your picture on it seems to be broken 2/3 of the time, and you have to do certain account maintenance in the bank which is inconvenient for people who spend extended stays off-island(s).
An issue of some inconvenience for me has been trying to get consistent customer service from a mortgage lender. The first lender I spoke to was unreliable at getting back to me, and then just stopped responding to me. Turned out he was no longer the mortgage lender for this branch, so I got left in limbo when the new lady took over. With her also, I received a few responses, and then didn't hear back from her.
.. There were a number of hoops I had to jump through for the underwriters, however, I don't feel my mortgage was any more complicated than most. Income/credit history were not a problem, so it was all stuff like making sure the insurance limits were correct, and getting a written easement from bishop estates expressly granting permission to drive up the road.
