I went in today to open up a checking account and was told they were too busy to help me. Was told to come back later. Well I went to another bank that was happy to help me. How is a bank to grow without new customers.

I have been an American Trust member since I was in high school. I have always experienced top-notch customer service. Their bankers are caring people, and very knowledgeable. I recently had a problem with an online purchase, and the JFK team fully listened to my concerns and took care of the problem as if it was money missing from their personal accounts, not mine. I know that I'll be safe and protected when using their services. And even being in my mid 20's, I've always felt treated with respect when applying for loans (car or mortgage).. Their rates are fair and competitive. Keep it up American Trust!

Poor service mind. I have just moved from Texas and was advised by employer to open the bank account at MidWestOne. Yesterday I went with my American employer and Gini helped me opened the bank account with no problem. She was nice while my employer were there with me. I deposit about $7k for my account. Today, I went to the bank again with my husband and daughter to opened another account for him. We felt that we were treated with unprofessional attitude. I do not know what happened to Gini today. She was blunt and seemed to upset with my 2 years old daughter who cried and tired to play with the stuffs on her desk. Me and my husband tried our best to control our daughter. But it seemed like Gini still upset and told us to leave twice!!! She was not verbally rude but her facial expression tells it all. We felt that it could be Racism. Because we are Asian, we were treated differently than other customers. After she told us to leave and called in another white customer. Her tone was totally different. That’s why we felt that she was racist. Today we ended up deposit another 3k to my husband bank account. BUT we are considering closing all the accounts tomorrow. We do not deserve to be treated like this. My recommendation is, if you are new to this town and need to open the bank account, please find other ones. It’s not worth even go there and being treated like this. It was our worst experience since we arrive in Dubuque!!!

We bank at American Trust from a distance and have been so pleased with the above and beyond customer service we experience here, especially from Barb. Their rates are fantastic and we always feel as though we are getting top notch care here.

I search coin rolls. I went to this branch and a young african american teller told me there was a coin shortage after I just purchased $50 a few days earlier. They didn't know I was about to open an account with the $300 I had, and the attitudes changed when they realized they were being video recorded. I decided to tell them I would just go to another bank and the teller waved his arms towards the door as for me to gladly leave with my deposit. By the end of the day Tuesday I deposited $179,000 into DB@T. The rude teller and his boss lost you an account. Definitely wouldn't have a job today if I were the boss. Stay away. The video and audio are going all across social media starting Thursday morning. Good job ya all!!

Awful bank, they never return your calls. I lost an offer on a house because an inheritance they were supposed to send out weeks ago was "delayed" so they could keep the money in the account until the end of the quarter. These are greedy leeches who play the cup game with your money.
