Terrible terrible terrible! Need I say more? Went into this branch a month ago. They said I qualified. Waited another month after they said to wait for more income. Did that. Pulled credit twice cause they couldn’t use the credit info they pulled first time. Hurt my credit report. This guy Ryan is a scammer. Told me not to worry that everything is good. Came back near end of month only to tell me that the underwriter said they couldn’t verify my employment because of the name where company was located at or on my check produced by ADP was in the wrong location. Never heard of this. Compared it to another check and still don’t see it. So I was denied a second time plus they pulled credit report twice. This financial institution is a sham. Avoid them.

I had my loan approved by a different location, but needed to transfer it to a different one. I called and spoke to Ryan to have it transferred to his. (That was before I read the reviews.) My loan was approved by the Craigin location so Ryan simply needed to call me in to confirm the details and sign. He received the loan Friday, said he would call me back Monday. No call. I called Tuesday like hey when we can finalize this? He’s like let me take a look and call you back. Again no call. Called back and spoke to the branch manager to explain Ryan has been extremely incompetent, he says he would look in to it and give me a call back. Who calls back? Mr. Incompetent. Ryan says verbatim “we’re all set, we’ve completed the employee verification, we have your paystubs and bank statement, let’s schedule a time for you to come in & get this finalized for you” We scheduled Thursday 430pm. Ryan calls me Wednesday “hey, you’re all set we just need to schedule a time for you to come in this week” I could not believe my ears, do you not take notes? How are you this disorganized? I tell him we already scheduled an appt for TOMORROW. He’s like oh sorry just bring your banking.
I arrive with my banking the very next day. Ryan leaves his desk and brings me to what I assume is their customer space for when they have appts. He walks me through the screen, I select my options. He then says he needs my banking but he has to enter it in the screen on his computer AWAY From the desk that damn near showed me everything else. My banking is the one step he is unable to complete at the customer service desk. I say ok, I will walk with you over to your desk and read it to you as I had it as an image on my phone. I provide him my banking at his desk. After about 5 mins he asks me to go sit down back at the customer service desk while he finishes the last steps to get me paid. He comes back over and tells me the loan has been denied because they were unable to verify employment. Now, if you read the beginning of this review you know just as I know Ryan stated himself they verified employment. If they failed to do so, WTF did you tell me to come in. You’ve wasted days and the additional hour of my life it took for me to come in. ALSO why are you finding out AFTER I provided my banking that it’s been declined??? I called headquarters in Indiana and they said this never happens. When I log on to the website, my loan still says it’s in the approval process so how could it have been declined? I call this location back and ask to speak to the branch manager. He says he would look into it and call me back. That was two days ago. Moral of the story: This whole situation was super sketch. Please steer clear, I’m monitoring my account & thank God I was able to secure funds elsewhere because this place should not be in business. Terrible experience. Imagine how shady they become after they fund you. TERRIBLE.

This branch is awful. After applying online, I had someone call me who said I was accepted and would be able to come in the next day for an appointment. I was told to bring my passport (i said I was a graduate student with a Belgian passport). 10 min before our appointment, I call to confirm and am told I need a few other documents. Luckily I was able to find their pdf on my online accounts. Then once there, I am told they cannot accept my Belgian passport as ID even though they have my pay stubs, W2, bank statements, credit reports, social security number. Even though I had told them in advance and thyand had said it was fine. This is ridiculous and a big waste of time.

I applied seven months ago, and you said my car is not worth for apply, you denied. I totally understand.
But you keep sending me emails again and again that says I’m qualified for a loan. Yes, I need financial help, I submitted the application again, you told me the exact same reason and denied. What is wrong with you?
You One main company messed up my credit score big time since beginning of the year!!! I tried to build it up carefully after Covid crisis hard time. Please stop sending me those fake emails and delete my information from your list. Stop it, I don’t need your help anymore. You hurting my account and credit. You are really bad company I’ll tell all people who ask for financial help. Thanks, please give those loan to the people have nice car.
I feel bad about it, you are not trustworthy.

Tried to apply for a loan and spoke to an incredible rude person on the phone. The list of documents to upload included "Car registration" but the person on the phone told me they needed the "Car title". I asked three times which was needed to complete my loan and she advised I go to a Currency Exchange (what?) to learn more. She kept talking over me and clearly didn't understand that a car title is different than a car registration. I asked how a Currency Exchange in Illinois would be able to help with my car that is currently registered in New Mexico. She even said she didn't own a car and didn't really know. All I wanted to do was submit the final required document to complete my loan, and was being told two different things from a very rude and uninformed employee. I asked to speak with her manager and she put me on hold, came back and said her managers was on a call and would l like to wait or receive a call back. Being frustrated already, I opted for a call back and she immediately hung up. I did NOT receive a call back from anyone. I've used this company in the past and had a much better experience. If I were a manager/supervisor at this company, I would seriously look into this person's performance and attitude as they are not definitely not someone I'd want representing my company.
Edit: I returned to my application a day later and discovered it had been closed and there is no longer the option for me to upload the final document (the car registration listed on the required list of documents) to complete my application.

One Main makes it so easy and stress-free. When you apply, they have a live agent that talks you through the whole thing. They don’t embarrass you about your reasons for bill consolidation. The app makes it simple to understand how and when to make payments. If I ever need another loan, One Main will be my first stop.
