I was looking for a place to put my nest egg, so I was wanting to open a new account at Landmark.
On Tuesday I raced home to get there before the 5:30 closing time posted on Google, only to find out their lobby closed at 5.
So, today in order to get to the building before the lobby closed, I had to take an hour off of work and drive 30 miles just to get there with a reasonable amount of time left to open my account.
When I entered the lobby it was about 4:15. There was someone seated at the reception window, so I had a seat and waited patiently. When I got to the window it was about 4:20. The receptionist called back to member services, who said they, "don't open new accounts after 4:00," and was sent away with my rather large check in my hands.
It didn't sit right with me. So, I called. I had to call more than a dozen times to get an actual person during regular lobby business hours (now appx 4:45).
When I finally got a person from member services who gave a half apology and passed me off to "Anna," who was a, "Vice President." Anna then proceeded to explain to me that it was my fault that I didn't research the situation enough to know they didn't open new accounts after 4....even though I had been all over their website, checked hours with Google and their lobby door, and was specifically coming in to ask questions about opening an account. Never once did I come across anything that talked about special hours for opening an account.
I guess they don't want my business....and honestly after this experience, I'm glad I dodged the bullet.

I have been banking with Landmark CU since it used to be VA Credit Union at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center on 1900 E Main St back in the 70’s. Great Service! Paying bills on line is excellent!

One of the best places to handle all financial concerns. They offer a lot of services, including online transactions. It's easy to manage, and puts me at ease being that I can control my accounts without leaving the comfort of my own home. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend this credit union to everyone.

Decent bank but for some reason i can not get cash back at caseys gas stations. That is the only place i have an issue it will automatically decline my card enough though i have enough $ to cover it. And their app is terrible it hardly ever works

I was visiting from out of town and needed to cash a pay check. My mother, my sisters and my uncle all bank here. All had way more than 20X what the check was worth in their accounts. Was told would not cash it. Advised me to take it to a liquor store, which I did and low and behold they cashed it. What Communist bank, town, and country we are becoming. Can't believe I spent 21 years of my defending what this country has now become.
