I bought a car and the dealer financed it through HCU. I did not get anything in the mail with a statemement showing the due date or a payment book. I had to look at the paperwork I signed when I bought the car to confirm the due date. No problem, I'll go set up an account online, but I don't have an account number, so I call in. I get Brittany on the phone and she seemed to be preoccupied or in a rush. She gives me the account number and tells me where to click to pay, but hangs up on me as I was asking another question as it was the first time I was using their system. Being hung up on as a customer is extremely rude and it makes me wonder if I want to keep my car here or refinance it elsewhere as I do not like being treated with such disregard.

This is a bank full of scam artists. If zero stars was an option that’s what they’d get. Adding ppi without notice while I have valid insurance, essentially doubling my payment, and nearly causing me to become delinquent. When I informed them of this mistake, I was told I would still have to pay the astronomical fee or “unfortunately your credit will take the hit”

They are so rude all the time. They claimed they weren’t getting my payments through the night deposit box then withdrew them all at once. My S/O also went and tried to make a payment and they wouldn’t let her then said she couldn’t put the check and acct slip in the night box either. So extremely rude and I will never be using them again.

I will never use heartland ever again. Paid off my car and they are still sending me notifications saying I’m late in my parents

DO! NOT! EVER! USE! HCU!!! I cancelled an incorrect payment 4 days before it was scheduled to go out and received an email with a confirmation number(!) stating that the cancellation had been accepted right then but the money was pulled anyway,4 days later, sending my account into the negative. When I finally got through to someone, I was told that they couldn't transfer the funds back electronically, even though that's how they received it, but that I would have to either drive to their facility to pick up the cash, which would require me to take a half day off from work or they could send me a check after 48 hours. In the meantime, I've had to deal with my bank concerning overdraft charges caused by this. I hope HCU goes out of business TODAY!!!
Also, 3.2 stars is incorrect. There are more negative reviews than positive reviews which means it would have be below the half way point of 2.5

The worst place to get a car loan and make payments to principal and find out your extra cash is going to interest. Which means they are stealing from you. Staple
would love to hear
