I've had an auto loan here for years. Wanted to borrow 2k, and my credit isn't the greatest but its not horrible so I get it whatever... Pretty much wasted an entire week not hearing back from anyone about anything and just trying to find out if they'll give me a loan or not after giving them all my credit info they needed and the still wouldn't reach back out to let me know.
Had to call them myself and leave messages just to get to my loan officers phone line, to then leave another message with them giving them my email for more info, didn't hear back for 2 more days despite emailing, eventually I just called them again before close just to find out I was declined overall. But then they had told me about another option I could do for 1500 that they were confident I would get, so I had them look into it, then another day later they told me I'm only approved for 800 if I switch my direct deposit to their bank instead of my own and also refinance my car on top of that. I asked in an email if there was anything I could do and they want me to call them to discuss further options...
So yeah. No thanks. Giant waste of time for not a lot of money. I then called my actual bank, they called back in 2 hours and I was approved same day full amount. Once my car is paid off here I'll be out. So much for credit unions being better.

Update: a month ago I posted about the lobby being closed (see below). Well it’s still closed, I even submitted a picture of a guy without a car having to walk up to the drive thru to do his banking.
For the last year the lobby has remained closed even though all the other banks have opened theirs. 2x now we have come and the sign said that the lobby was open but the door remained locked and the lobby closed. Once our loan is paid off we will no longer be using this credit union.

Surprised at all the negative comments. I have been with Cornerstone a couple years now. I have had nothing but positive experiences with everyone from the personal banker Johanna to the walk up tellers. I have run into a financial problem once and I called them and they were kind enough to help me by deferring my payment again no judgement. Pure compassion and professionalism. I definitely recommend them to anyone who is sincerely looking for an affordable personal or car loan. Now you can't be mad at an institution for trying to collect on a debt, one review stated they did not let you know you were past due and repoed. Now I am not judging but I think I would know if I hadn't made my cat payments. I'm JS.

They sued me because their loan officer was to lazy to do her job. I wrecked a few years ago and had GAP insurance, all the proper documentation to prove it, and instead of going after the GAP insurance for not paying out, they sued me without warning. In the end, my GAP paid cornerstone off, and cornerstone made me pay off the court costs. The kicker? Every piece of evidence I brought in to CCU to rectify the situation they already had copies of. They weren't willing to work with me resolving the issue or give any helpful information to go about resolving it. They were extremely unprofessional and rude throughout the entire ordeal. I will never bank here, and I do not suggest anyone else ever does either!!

Toni, and her manager, went above and beyond today in helping rectify some major issues regarding an overdraft in my checking account, and resetting my login credentials over the phone. I am beyond grateful for their help--I will never forget their kindness & care. (I've been banking here since about 1994 when my parents opened my first savings account as a kid, and I've always had positive experiences with both the service and staff. Thanks for everything!)

Don't use their check deposit feature on the app. Says it was excepted then denies it days later. And don't write void on the check or you will have to bother the issuer for a new check. Also don't make your kids a savings account and leave money sit thinking it will gain interest over the years they will claim they could not get ahold of you and the state took your money, and there nothing they can do to give your money back.
