I cannot comment on the experience of those leaving negative comments, but I've never had anything but the best service and don't personally know anybody who had bad service. Because they are a credit union and non a full bank, I've run into a few things they don't do in international transactions, so I maintain a separate bank account that I pretty much just use for international transactions.

Horrible experience. Had a car loan with them for over 3 years and never had positive interactions with the staff. They would be friendly until they get what they want from you and then be very rude. The online banking is not user friendly as in it does not work most of the time. Definitely would not recommend doing business here.

Terrible credit union! You better hope you don’t have an account go dormant or get any other fees because they WONT refund no matter what!! I have been a member for 10 years and have had multiple loans. They don’t care about the members!

VIA used to be my go to bank. I even got my husband to switch to it. Now, I'm ready to close my account and be done with VIA Credit Union. I've had to call at least 5 times in the last month all for random and rediculous problems caused by them. Now my card is expired and they haven't sent me a new one. I even called and confirmed, three weeks prior, that it would be sent to me before my card expired. The only thing I can thank via for is making my decision to leave them final.

The low score is for the way it's hard to use online.
They screw with the online banking site. It's a new mess each time.

What happens when you try to use a hometown bank to support the community but live in another state? Your account gets locked regularly during the most inconvenient times. Over and over again, my account has been locked even though VIA knows that I don’t live in Indiana. This isn’t so much a review of the banks in general, more so the GOD AWFUL operation of the fraud department. I will be closing my account AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

The folks answering the phones are nothing but pleasant, but between fees for every reasonable method of payment, double the processing time on an ACH payment compared to any actual bank, and unreliable followup from their loan specialists? I'll be refinancing elsewhere at my earliest opportunity, and ending my relationship with this credit union.

Just had to share what a great experience I had with VIA. I am navigating the overwhelming task of settling my mother’s estate. One job was to pay off her car. The guidance I was given was exceptional. Communication is the key to how to success in my opinion and VIA is the hands down best at communicating.
