I joined APGFCU out of Chesapeake City. A local supervisor Loren is very personable
-BUT-
she handles much...leave messages on her answering machine...no way can she respond in timely manner.
Hold times calling main number are always over an hour. I am now in the Q waiting for the callback and 1 hour is up.

Update 1/3/23. There are so many good reasons to continue with APGFCU...improve on previous mentioned issues and this bank could be golden.

Apgfcu is losing my business. I will be pulling our money and give another bank my business.
I have a joint account with my husband. My maiden name and his name. We just got married.
I tired to deposit checks made out to Mr. and Mrs. New last name into our account (all signed, maiden name, new name, he signed as well) and they refused.
They can make acceptions apparently, but not for us.
I've worked in the banking industry for over 6 years, this should not have been a problem until I got the documentation to update our name.

Apgfcu has been a joke for harford county for a long time, long waiting times for any conflict you could have with this bank. Aberdeen apg has got to be the worst out of any other location, staff are non attentive and anything takes forever to load, if you’re planning on setting up a bank account here I highly recommend any other bank besides apg. Their app rarely works, and is always down for maintenance. And don’t bother trying to get a loan here, they’re quick to deny you regardless of your credit score or history. Whole facility is a joke, good luck if you bank here.

Since you requested it:
While visiting this location, I waited over an hour to make a car payment in the drive thru. I don't use APGFCU for primary checking so I couldn't take advantage of the online services.
I understand there are circumstances preventing normal operations, Covid-19 is not an excuse for this terrible service. I've visited other banking establishments that handled this situation much better.
If I knew the wait would be that long, I wouldn't have gone through, instead I was trapped.
The only redeeming factor was the teller. She did her best to handle the line and was pleasant. I don't fault her, rather poor management. Especially for putting their employees in such a mismanaged situation.
My recommendation would be to have an employee guiding traffic, managing lines for quick services, and providing an ETA before entering the queue. If this sounds unreasonable, make a better online experience and allow users to pay bills without requiring a checking or savings to make payments.
Maybe this will reduces the amount of transactions on site, freeing up the drive-thru for those who need it.

Update: Someone from the branch did call to follow up with me. I called them back twice and left a message both times. I never received a call back.
Customer service is impossible to reach and forget getting anything accomplished in a timely manner! When they finally call you back, you get disconnected and I guess they just move on to the next person. It took more than an 8 hour day just for a password reset. I didn't choose this credit union for my car loan and I can say with certainty that I will never choose to do business with them again.

As a new member I was greeted by Jackie, the receptionist and then I met with Joseph, the member service specialist. Joseph was very kind and patient as he collected my vital information. He was very informative and detailed with my new account. I was treated with respect. It was evident that Joseph truly cared about his job and conveyed his passion about his work at APGFCU. This was the first time I visited this branch and was very impressed with the environment. This must due to a confident, knowledgeable and caring branch maniUnder the leadership of Mr.Arquello, this Credit Union can only continue to flourish and bring various financial opportunities to our community.

Worst bank ever. They failed to send an updated debit card when the one I had was about to expire so they said the only option was to give me a new card with completely new account number. Then they couldn’t get that card to work consistently. I had trouble with my cash apps, regular purchases etc I went to Havre de Grace branch for help and the young man working there had absolutely no clue what he was doing and behaved like he couldn’t care less. He told me the only way to fix the situation was to give me yet another new card with another completely new account number. I’d been with APGFCU for over a decade, but that was the last straw for me. I got so frustrated I closed my account on the spot.

July 2023 Update
Kudos to APGFCU for responding to my issue. An employee contacted me, and immediately solved my issue. Thank you.
This rating is for apgfcu@myloaninsurance. APGFCU would receive a 5-star rating. I purchased a vehicle and was gracious that APGFCU financed it. Their association with apgfcu@myloaninsurance gets 1 star. The hoops that I have had to jump through for insurance verification is very frustrating. I literally have uploaded 6 documents to this service, and I keep getting responses that the documentation is insufficient. The documents, that I was getting from the insurance company, contain the Insurance Company contact information. If the information is insufficient, you would think that they would contact the insurance company to verify the coverage. I am 75 years old, and this is really stressing me out.
An example of their incompetence is apparent in regard to a document that I uploaded July 14, 2023. I got a response that it was insufficient because it did not contain the deductible amounts for comprehensive and collision. The document clearly shows the deductibles as $500 for both. (See the attached photo).
I'm beginning to think that the insurance verification service is deliberately doing this, so they can assign me to some high-rate insurance company. Part of the written communication suggest that they will do this...
APGFCU should seriously look into whether this is happening to other customers.
