ATM only works half the time. They do shared branching, but they do everything as a check, so then it creates unnecessary holds and headaches with your Credit Union. I became a member hoping it’d make it easier, but its still just as much of a headache. If they need to have a physical paper trail that bad, just keep the receipts and don’t make everything go by check.
Also- if you don’t have enough in your checking, it’ll either reject it or charge you a fee. This is why I’ve stuck to my other credit Union that’s farther away instead of switching completely.

Was planning on opening an account here and depositing 100k to start off with, but as I walk in through the front door I am greeted by the front desk associate who seems to have a serious issue with me being there with the smart remarks and the poor attitude. Pretty sure my age was a factor.

I have been a member since I was a kid, I have never had a bad experience. The app, kind of stinks and the automatic check deposit feature never works, but, I have never had issues with service, or any of the staff. Best in the area by far.

Here is my issue. I've been looking to do a cash out refinance on a property I recently purchased. I've encountered issues with the length of time I've owned the property. The fact that I can't make it my primary residence (can't change residence if everything is closed for covid). As well as the property being a multi family.
Each one of these has resulted in a credit check for no reason. Number of credit checks recently affects your credit score. My credit score is excellent and I'm sensitive about keeping it that way. Especially since I'm looking to take out a loan.
With this in mind I called Maine Family before I applied to make sure none of these issues would cause them to decline a loan. The loan officer I spoke to assured me that none of those issues would be a problem. With that in mind I spent the better part of an hour filling out their online application and submitting a loan request.
Sure enough a week or so later I got a denial letter. The reasons cited are temporary residence and length of residency. Two reasons I explicitly confirmed before applying would not be a problem. Yet another credit check. I reached out to the loan officer to find out what was going on and received no return call.
I will attempt to contact a manager so I can file a complaint, but at this point the damage is already done. Completely disappointing experience.

I have been a member for 6 years (since I turned 16) and never overdraft, I didnt even know I could and I asked to get it returned in which the response was simply no. Any other bank or credit union would refund a one time mistake. Guess I'm looking for a new bank that has some understanding.

Have been a member at Maine Family for 20+ years, and even though I now live out of state I continued to bank with them. Well, this may soon come to an end. Customer support/service is awful. I’ve recently had the need to utilize the mobile app for electronic deposit, but was running into issues. Called and discussed my issues with the mobile banking rep - Carol, who took my info, details of the issue and said she’d get back to me. Several days go by and no call returned. So I call, ask to speak to Carol… goes to voicemail. I leave a message and continue to wait. Try calling again several days later… Can I speak with Carol please - please hold. Moments later, I hear the phone pick up, then immediately hung up. Not one word spoken. Conclusion, Carol recognizes the out of state area code, has no answers for the mobile app issue, and can’t be bothered to assist in resolution.

This company has become harder and harder to deal with to stop a payment on my card i was told i need to come in and sign something. They also are no longer opened on weekend for in person service . Only drive up . So if you work monday -Friday good luck getting anything accomplished with them. .

Been a member since I was 8 years old. Happy to stay with them always helped me with loans and I feel like they gave me the benefit of knowing me into account. Best credit union I've dealt with.
