Excellent customer service. Had tons of issues with my car dealer but Ashley B was able to not only handle them but clear my loan in a very short time. It was such a relief to have someone dealing with the situation who clearly knew what she was doing. I would recommend anyone use Genisys for the car buying process.

I have been a Genisys customer for 10 years. Back in February 2022, Genisys notified me of suspicious activity and I called to confirm that I did not authorize those charges. Genisys confirmed this was fraud and credited back the $2,000 fraudulent charges. I went into my local branch and got a new card. Fast forward 5 months to July, Genisys charged back the $2,000 and stated that they determined the charges were not actually fraud. I have tried working with the Fraud Department as well as Electronic Services. Neither department have helpfed and they were, in fact, rude over the phone. I have escalated this my local Police Department and they have opened an investigation. The Police Department was shocked, after reviewing all the documentation I had, that Genisys did not clearly see this was a definitely fraud charges.
After Genisys notified me and agreed this was fraudulent charges and then charging it back 5 months later with little to no help, I will more than likely be transferring my accounts to another Credit Union!!

Sammie P did an excellent job of keeping me informed and processing my loan. In general, I have never been disappointed with Genisys Credit Union services - from online, to calling for information, to loan services, to visiting branches. Always top notch service by smiling professionals.

I had to change CU recently. I have a kid that had to learn to manage his money the hard way. I was on his account for emergency purposes only. This past summer 2022, Genisys decided they were going to recoup their money at my expense. They started taking my NEBF deposit that I receive monthly. The money just disappeared. I was given no notification of any kind. It took me a bit to realize something was wrong. I contacted the CU and was told they are taking the money for my kids debt..he had to file bankruptcy. I was furious. I did not incur this debt. They have refused to return any of the money.
So I have a small loan, I requested to refinance as my credit score had gone up. I was told by Sam, the loan representative at the Genisys on Highland, that because I am refusing to pay off that debt they would not refinance my loan. The letter they sent to me stated differently. Imagine That!
I went directly to Vibe Credit Union on Highland Rd. Not only did I change financial institutions, I got a loan, 9% lower than what I was paying, paid off Genisys and I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS AT ANY GENISYS EVER.
BEWARE LEST THEY DECIDE YOU OWE THEM SOMETHING AND JUST TAKE IT.

STAY AWAY, FIND A DIFFERENT CREDIT UNION AND/OR BANK!!! Seems as if 1 person runs the entire phone in customer service, was on hold for 45 minutes once, just trying to get a pay of notice on a loan. I will never use this place again. They call you for customer care and tell you to dial an extension to get back to them and never answer at that extension.
All this to try to get a pay off on a car loan because I purchased a new vehicle.
I don't know who runs this operation, but these types of shortcomings sink ships really easy.

Do not use “call me back later when my place in line comes up”. After a wait, my phone rang for all of 1.5 seconds before Genisys hung up. I didn’t even have time to react and pick it up. So much for help.

If you ever get a mortgage through GCU and get Lynn Dillon as your loan officer, I highly encourage you to request somebody else. While she was personable and kindly answered all my questions, her and her assistant Nick Hammer were disorganized and unprofessional.
Not only did she put the wrong name on my pre-approval letter which almost cost me the house that I ended up purchasing, but there was a mistake made on her part at nearly every step of the process. From putting incorrect numbers on some paperwork that I had to send back to her multiple times before it was correct, to sending a 20 plus page packet with all of my personal information including my social security number, full name, address, employer, salary to my old address even after I had given her my new address. Luckily it ended up in the hands of my old neighbor whom I trusted and who called me to let me know what happened. Even my real estate agent was not happy with them, she said that Nick kept on calling her and asking her questions that she had previously answered for him.
It's really a shame that this was my experience because getting a mortgage and buying a house is already stressful enough and this added unnecessary stress to the process.
