The young women with the office is terrible at answering questions and manners. All she knew what to do was say yes like a robot and walk professionally tapping her heels on the floor. I only had a few questions and she was very short and didn’t really give me a lead on anything. Just because you have a job at a bank doesn’t mean act like Kylie Jenner in a middle class outfit. No college experience I would do a hell of a lot better with helping people out if I worked there.

There was an unexpected payment error with my auto-loan, and I needed to make a payment ASAP. My only immediate option was card based payment. I went to the closest branch, and the teller informed me that their branch was not set up to take a card-based payment. I asked if there was another branch that could, the teller said that there was not. I asked if I could pay online, they said no. I asked if there was any option that would support a card-based payment. The teller informed me that KCCU had no ability to take a card-based payment in a branch or otherwise.
At no point did the teller attempt to learn what my situation was, nor did the teller attempt to look for alternatives, or ask for a manager to investigate additional options. Although in fairness the teller did repeatedly mention that many cards had cash advance options and that I could use the ATM outside.
I was flabbergasted. I asked "Is this a bank?" the teller corrected me by stating that it was actually a Credit Union. Then reminded me again that the ATM outside was available. I was beside myself. The #1 reason I left my big bank and went to a credit union was not to get treated like a number. I could not believe what I was hearing. I felt, embarrassed, insulted, and unheard. As a customer, it was clear my issue was of no importance and I felt I was trapped with fees and penalties that were unjust. But what is undeniable: 1. I left having had a terrible experience. 2. There was nothing done about how the error occurred in the first place. 3. My immediate issue of making a card-based payment was far from resolved.
I called the KCCU phone number, and I was immediately asked to describe the situation. I was informed that I could indeed make a card based payment! I was placed on a brief hold to determine the best option for my situation, and with great ease, the error was identified, my payment was made, and steps were now in place to ensure the error would not happen again. AMAZING. A completely different experience from my in-person experience at the KCCU branch.
In fairness, this was my first time going to this KCCU branch. With great certainty, it will be my last. I would strongly recommend against this branch if your expectation is to receive assistance with your KCCU services. However, if your expectation is to simply deposit or take out money from your account, I understand they have an ATM outside.

I have been a member with KCCU long before I started working here. It is a great company to work for. The Dickman road team rocks! We are one big family. :)

The Beckley Road branch of Kellogg Credit Union has terrible customer service! I like KCFCU but I refuse to go to the Beckley Road location. The tellers are rude and very unhelpful. The mortgage department is incompetent as well. Trying to get information for mortgages is vitrually impossible. This is not a reflection of knowledge or lack of, it is just plain laziness and an extreme lack of consideration for the customer. On a different note, the downtown branch is WONDERFUL. The staff is excellant! Beckley Rd. branch can learn a thing or two from the downtown branch.

I think that all 3 of the locations in Battle Creek have WONDERFUL customer service, especially Beckley. I am in here 1 to 2 times throughout the week, and I ALWAYS have a great experience :) Always greeted with a warm smile and always assisted in a quick, kind, hassle free manner.

Terrible place….leading all the way to the entire CU. ATM are my debit card when taking out money. Charged me for the money I was taking out, but refused to give my card back. Stated it was “policy” to only return KCCU cards. Even though I was standing there with my ID in my hand and in uniform. Manager said they can return cards even to owners because it could be stolen…not sure how I can steal my own debit card. Just terrible place. Bulldoze it down and put in a garden. The garden would be 1000x better at customer service and logical “policies.”

Worst bank I have ever used never going to use them again. Had issues with them drawing extra payments for loans at random. Finally got tired of them taking money at their will closed my two accounts and 6 months later got an email stating I owed them money because somehow money tried to be pulled from account.

I've been a member since '93 and would NEVER think of banking anywhere else. I love the staff, their courteous attention to members and their efficient responses to any request.
