This review is for the Double Play Rewards Program through Genysis Credit Union.
When you use your debit card as credit to pay, you get points. I’m not sure the amount of points earned to $ spent but I had been using my debit card as such to get the points to redeem for the merchandise they have advertised on the app. I’ve redeemed points twice before this incident, One for 8,300 points 1/21 and one for 16,500 points 12/21
The Incident in question:
November 3rd, 2022 I redeemed 3, $25 gift cards for Kohl’s using 16,500 points. As per my account, the gift cards were shipped on November 7th, 2022. I never received the gifts cards. I called on November 30th, 2022 wondering what was going on. Was told to call back on the 30 day mark (December 7th). Called on December 7th, 2022, was told that they were going to “escalate it”, and emailed the carrier to see what was going on. Why couldn’t they email them on the 30th to see what was going on, you ask? The world may never know. Was told on the 7th to call back next day to get a status from the carrier. Call back on the night of the 8th and was told it was probably because of the holidays and that they would email me with an update, they emailed and asked me to verify the shipping address, I verified the address and didn’t hear back anything. Called today December 10th and was told that it’s been escalated and they just started the “defunding of the gift cards in case they were stolen” TODAY (not when I called on the 7th or 8th) and they will be able to send out new gift cards once that process is complete in 30 DAYS! So now we’re looking at them just sending them out anywhere from January 7th-10th and could be waiting another 30 days to receive them. I redeemed these gift cards before the holidays even started to be able to have them to give out at Christmas. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement.

I cannot recommend Genisys Credit Union, specifically the Marysville branch enough. Great banking services and amazing member support. I had the great benefit of having some accounting issues handled by Chelsea Arnold and she was amazingly pleasant, prompt and beyond helpful.

I've been with Genisys for 3 or 4 years now, and I have been nothing but satisfied. Staff are not just pleasant, not just efficient, they are actually PASSIONATE about what they do. They make an effort to learn your name and face when you come in. I could work with a teller one time, and the next time I come in they will immediately call me by my first name and start pulling my account up. Interest being paid on my accounts is untouchable by any other financial institution in the area, and I've always been happy with any products I use with them, such as my Genisys Mastercard. I was initially concerned about the lack of branches in the area, but I found that it was more than remedied by their mobile banking (you can do anything on your phone that you can do on your computer, and mobile check deposits are a lifesaver), helpful staff, and branch hours that feel more tailored to the working man. Compare that to Advia Credit Union (whom I previously had my account through)- 5 branches in this area, but a mobile banking app that is consistently broken and doesn't do much when it IS working, and drive-thru and ATM lines that are always backed up. Night and day difference. Overall I'm very happy with Genisys, and this branch in Marysville stands out as exceptional compared to the Clinton Township branch I visited.

I have been with other banks and credit unions before (Advia, Chase, BOA), and nothing compares to the care and professionalism displayed by Genisys Credit Union. You walk in and the staff know who you are, and even remember small details about who we are. It makes you feel appreciated. If you ever have problems they generally work with you, and in the end they are determined to make you happy. I’ve heard that their rates for loans are fantastic compared to the competition, and since I’m going to be looking for a new car soon, I will definitely head to Genisys first.
Overall, I haven’t had any bad experiences even when I was having issues with my paychecks not coming in and being over drafted several times, but they still helped however they could.
Give them a try, I haven’t trusted anyone more with my money!

So glad to have Genisys as my credit union. They have such amazing people working for them and have caught scammers attempting to steal money when our cards were hacked. I will never use another bank. Genisys credit union is top notch !!

Worst bank ever!! Get alerted that your card is compromised and respond NO to “were these your transactions” but yet they let them go through!!??? What a Joke!! So I head to my local Marysville branch to get a rude teller that doesn’t know how to do her job and has to ask how to deal with the issue.. now I have to wait weeks to get the transactions refunded to my account.. needless to say I’ll be switching banks!!

I've always had great interactions with the genisys credit union reps, and they're always quick to reach out and respond to any inquiries or situations when needed. They also have been very helpful in resolving any issues.
