Del Norte loan department, customer service department, branch manager, and executive board have provided me with the worst and most unprofessional service I have experienced with any financial institution. I have banked with Enterprise Bank and Trust here in Los Alamos as well, so that's really saying something.
You would be wise to avoid this credit union and/or cease business with them.

The WORST banking and auto loan experience I have ever had. I switched to DNCU 2 years ago and applied for an auto loan earlier this year. This was my very first loan and I had no experience purchasing a car from a dealer or the process of getting a car through a loan. Long story short, DNCU has mishandled my auto loan and title from the very beginning. It turned out the dealership didn't sign the title correctly so DNCU sent it back to the dealer (in Dallas, TX) back in July and they have not gotten it back yet. I have been told that I NEED to get the title back from the dealer in order to register my vehicle and get the license plate, the problem is the dealer doesn't answer any calls or emails. I have spent hours talking to multiple people at DNCU for months trying to get their legal department involved in getting the title back. The staff told me I need to hire a lawyer to get the title back!
The worst part is they no longer can issue anymore temporary tags so my vehicle can continue to be legal to drive AND I am paying out of pocket for a lawyer for services THEY should be paying for because THEY sent the title back and it is technically THEIR vehicle.
AND ontop of the mishandling and getting the runaround from DNCU for MONTHS, the loan staff has not been answering my emails and seems to have no interest in helping get this resolved.
I also got a letter from DNCU's lawyer saying if I stop paying my auto loan (which I haven't), they will pursue repossession!! ABSOLUTELY unacceptable customer service and no way to treat people.
I wanted to support DNCU because it is a local bank but I DEEPLY REGRET SWITCHING TO THEM and you can surely bet when this gets settled, I will be switching to a different bank. As a first time auto loan holder, everything that could go wrong, has gone wrong.

Very rude customer service. They’ll discriminate against you and not allow you to withdrawal or transfer money even though it’s in your account and posted. Stay away from this branch.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Nicki Gallegos at the Los Alamos branch. She is fast and efficient and has awesome customer service skills. My experience was above and beyond what I expected. I will be recommending her to my family and friends. Great job Nicki!!!

I worked with Andres Valdez for my auto loan. Andres contacted me throughout the whole loan process updating me on the status, he made sure everything was clearly communicated and nothing missed. Service at DNCU has always been outstanding and it was a pleasure to work with Andres and Nicki.

I make a unique burden for the staff at the Los Alamos branch. I run thousands of dollars in coins through their machine, and for all the possible inconvenience I give them, they're always willing to help. Josh is just a hands down, great guy. And Bernice is always friendly and knowledgeable.
I've never needed a loan, CD, or mortgage yet, but from my everyday dealings with this branch and it's staff, I wouldn't hesitate to go to them first if I needed anything more.

Josh Stinger was very professional. Guided me on not only my direct finances, but on ways that Del Norte Credit Union could help my future outlook. I’m very much appreciative for his support. DNCU has a loyal customer! Thanks so much.

I recently had an interaction with a business manager named Teresita Martinez at Del Norte Credit Union. To be honest, I was expecting a level of professionalism and service comparable with their reputation. Unfortunately, my experience was … More
