I had questions regarding the upgrade for my computer. I went into the Elko Branch and asked my questions. The staff was extremely helpful, allowing me to sign on while there to my account so they could walk me through the process! What a huge blessing they were, very helpful and very kind!! Thank you so much!!! it was easy and I had just worried the change would be too hard. Silly me!! In this day of technology, the Elko folks made me feel like I was a superstar!!

These women have been so helpful and friendly. They care about me as a person, know me by name, and have helped me any way they can. There aren't a lot of caring, compassionate people left that handle your money, but the women at the Elko GNCU branch are all A+ people. Trust me, if they weren't I'd have no problem saying so. Fantastic branch and people!

“I’m sorry, there’s nothing I can do”
This is a staff trained in avoiding accountability at every step.
I tried transferring my business account from out of state to GNCU. I made sure to call ahead to three separate branches (Vegas, Reno, Elko) to find out what documents were needed to transfer accounts. The Reno Representative gave me partial/incomplete information. The Vegas representative ignored my voicemails and never responded, and the Elko representative insisted on using completely different requirements that weren’t mentioned anywhere else, even their website.
After a week of not getting anywhere, I ended up driving about 400 miles and spending 2 days trying to make the change in person, only to be turned away for not having the right paperwork. I was, however told to, “come back and try again.”
At any point along the process, a single phone call and 5 minute discussion about clarifying exactly what is needed to transfer accounts would have either prevented this issue or solved it entirely, but even this small effort was beyond every single employee at GNCU.
After this incident I realized that these people would only jeopardize my ability to maintain my business, as their carelessness toward their own documentation combined with zero accountability would inevitably result in a clerical error that would cost me time and money. This flippant attitude toward losing customers might be acceptable with their executives, but it wouldn’t fly with me. With all of the online options in banking, there is zero reason to open yourself to this level of incompetence and aggravation, just use any other company and save yourself the trouble.
They were so incapable…they couldn’t take the money of someone who drove 400 miles to open an account. They instead chose to lose my business.
Thank about that…
