SEFCU a credit union bank. Is better then most if not all commercial banks.

This credit union does not participate in shared branching so if you are trying to get cash from your out of state credit union card don't bother. They also charge fiftycents more than most gas station ATM s even though the machine is attached to their brick and mortar location so even bigger crooks

I have been a member of SEFCU for many years now, ever since I move away from my old bank in Binghamton; VISIONS. My experiences with the banking union have been far and varied, however the specific branch in Amsterdam has been a surprisingly bright light among the bunch.
Given the location you might think it a bit, grungy, but it is anything but. The location is always clean and looks brand new every time I head inside. The staff is always dressed business-like, and their work is professional and courteous. Even when the line of cars for the teller stretches out into the parking lot, they don’t fret or seems stressed. It’s amazing really.
Of course when I do have to interact with one of the tellers, I always head inside. The mail tube might be an amusing feature, but I’ve always preferred the direct human interaction; plus the lines inside are usually smaller.
I’m not a huge fan of their system when it comes to ATMs however, requiring you to pull your card out and push it back in every single transaction. I get it has the chip, but come on, that is just overly tedious. You look like a goof when you do have to do it, and you feel like one too.
Right now there is nothing I can really say that’s terrible about this branch or any glaring problems, simply put it is an idea SEFCU location for the members who belong to the bank.

I have an auto loan with SEFCU and am selling the vehicle. I received a payoff check from the buyer and needed to retrieve a lien release letter. I called and spoke to an SEFCU representative. She informed me if I came in person I could be assisted in the drive thru and could retrieve the lien release same day. I should add that I contacted the chat services to verify this information, and ask whether Cooperstown VTM could do this. They said it could not be done at VTMs but it could be done at physical branches.
After traveling an hour from Herkimer to this branch I was told that that was not possible and that I would have to wait 7-10 days for the lien release to come in the mail. The teller made an effort to rectify the situation, but was unable to do so. Because of this misinformation, I wasted my time and resources.

Been with sefcu about a year. No complaints so far. My direct deposit arrives the day before my company sends it because it's federally funded. My mother switched from key bank cause she was getting screwed. So far I love it.

They have banners advertising that they are now Broadview FCU but all they will do is tell you all.the things they can't do for you. What a joke, don't advertise if your merger isn't really complete.

Stay away from this branch horrible management and people working that do not care about long lines. Avoid Broadview & all there branches.

THIS PLACE IS TRASH! WHY ARE YOU TOO INCOMPETENT TO SHUT OFF AN OPEN SIGN TO AN ATM THAT DOES NOT EVEN WORK???????? And Stop asking people for other member accounts numbers to link the account when all you need is a first and last name. Encouraging members to hand out their account numbers is dangerous and unnecessary. I have linked multiple accounts to mine with the first and last name as the only information needed, yet when I call to link an account I’m told I need the account number…. NO YOU DONT NEED AN ACCOUNT NUMBER TO LINK AN ACCOUNT. To expect or tell any member to give that information out is extremely dangerous and unprofessional! Get people who know how to do their jobs to answer the phones. Shame on you.
