This place has really gone downhill. I became a member in 2006 and never had problems until 2020. Since then, OUCU has been by far the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced from a financial institution. They talk down to you and many of them just do not listen. They always try to blame you or another bank before they even investigate a problem, which they always have to be pushed to do. I get interrupted when I speak and they have a long, tiring, convoluted communication system that makes it such a chore to just get basic questions answered. For example, one year I received letter after letter about my late payments even though payments were in fact being made, which just compounded anxiety because I spent hours on the phone with them trying to figure out why! While communicating with them I was laughed at and then someone else berated me for not letting them know that I was having financial problems. It felt like a bad dream. Against my better judgment, I put some purchases on my OUCU credit card this summer. I have tried to make a payment twice this month, both mysteriously "not received" even though the money is gone from my account and my bank is sending them the funds. Then, they try to charge me a late fee on top of that even though I have made a part time job out of trying to pay my bill. I cannot wait to never have to deal with them again. Off I got to cut up my OUCU credit card now.

Applied for a auto loan Monday 06/06. Did not hear anything until I called Thursday 06/09. Was told by loan officer that we had lack of credit history so it would result in us needing a down payment on a vehicle to be approved, which made no sense as we’ve had active credit history with OUCU for the last 8 years with no issues. After further look, they had confused my husbands credit with another OUCU member. I’ve left 2 calls and a email and still have not heard back from anyone in regards to the credit issue and how it got so horribly mixed up. Ended up going through another financial institution for the loan and had no issues on getting approved.

We had heard that the OUCU credit union was a worm and friendly experience. It was not. In attempting to join we spent three days copying, scanning, phone calls and typing but all that data was not acceptable. They requested 2022 SS data which won't be out till October 2022. This is a document that changes by +/- $100 per year but they insisted. They wore us down with rudeness. We are 78 and 80 years old with a credit rating is 835 so I am sure it wasn't our inability to be trusted. I certainly do not recommend this banking institution.

I find it absurd that they keep giving people overdraft fees when the money comes out of your account regardless of the timing. Even if you have money in the bank later that same business day you still get a $30 overdraft fee. I haven’t encountered this at any other bank I’ve banked with before.

I started a refinance through OUCU way back in January (I see emails dating back to Jan 6 when the application was submitted to be exact.). We are closing in on April and it STILL is not done, meanwhile interest rates have risen over a point during this time. I filed for a rate lock when I saw how long this is taking, it is set to expire April 9th, at which time I STILL won’t be closing on this and will be getting an even worse rate!
What a joke. Taking ~3 months for a simple refinance, I’m not sure how they stay in business. I shoulda went to OVB. Now I’m out $525 total ($350 for appraisal, -$175 for a non refundable rate lock that was worthless) for nothing. Steer clear!

I was trying to get an auto loan, applied online and had to call to get an update on the pre-approval. The CSR helping me, Kyle, lied and said he called me and left a voicemail. The next day I called again and spoke directly to him. He said he could email me the pre-approval which I never received. Thanks 👍 …
