I would never recommend this bank to anyone. They can’t always deposit your checks even if you have enough money in your accounts to cover them, sometimes when I deposit a check they don’t even deposit it into the correct account so I have to keep a close eye on every transaction. On top of all this, the Newport branch is unbelievably slow and incapable. I could go on and on about every inconvenience even though my husband has had accounts here his whole life. They have harassed him in the past about something as small as a $25,000 auto loan when his income at the time was well over $100,000. Coming from someone with a large business and multiple investment properties to deal with, this is not a great bank to use. My husband and I are forced to close out our accounts because we need a bank that is able to work with us on these simple tasks and while I am closing my accounts, I can hear one of the employees in the other room saying “good let her take her money” and laughing. So it would seem they are not looking to keep members or acquire new ones anyway. Zero stars would be the appropriate rating for this bank.

This is the first place I went to open a checking account when I moved to the area. The branch manager, Lori, is a consummate professional, dedicated to delivering the best possible service and providing creative solutions. The other professionals at this location, Jill, Stephanie, just to name a couple are amazing. Everyone always has a smile and does their best to be friendly and helpful. If I could change one thing, it would be to add push notifications to their banking app. This has zero reflection on the bank's service and stellar staff. Keep up the great work! Thank you.

Usually the attractiveness of a credit union is the smaller size, member owned, quality customer service, but People's has none of that. Living in the 1900's not being able to wire money for members is ludicrous. Not even when you offer to pay a fee will they wire money. Its 2021, get your stuff together and become a full service financial institution! There's a whole world wide web out there banking is done at the speed of light...except at People's.

I have been a member since 2008 and the lack of locations is frustrating as it is but I stayed with the credit union due to loyalty. Today however a women named Nicole who works in the Portsmouth office was incredibly rude to my mother who went in to pick up checks for me. I am appalled at the way this was handled, even by upper Management after I expressed to them what had happened. I will be changing banks and will be telling all local friends, businesses and officials of the poor service and unprofessional behavior.
