Awful bank, only reason why I stay banking with them is because it's easier for transferring money to my mother when needed cause she won't leave them. They have horrible customer service. I recently went in person to order checks because the online site would not let me and said I needed to contact them so I figured it would be easier in person. The teller tells me they do not have a book or any way to show the check options...she took a few not good looking pics on her personal cell phone for me to look at and decide. I went with what I thought looked the best on the choices I was shown. Then I made it very clear that I only wanted my name and address as I've always had on the checks, she verified my name and address. I received the checks yesterday, and it has my phone number on them. I'm not happy about this!

My husband and I recently decided to purchase a new car, and my father who has done business with Star Credit Union for over 30 years, referred me to David Zacher in the loan department off McKinzie. I waited in the lobby as David took call after call knowing I was waiting to be helped. When he decided to come greet me it was not much of one. He never asked my name nor did he introduce himself. He asked what he could do for me in a smug tone. I explained my husband and my intention to purchase a vehicle. To make a long story short — he passed me two cards and sent me on my way to apply online. His tone the whole time speaking with me was in a condescending manner — as if he made a preconceived notion I was not a qualified candidate. I’m not sure if it was my appearance, ethnicity, or gender, but I know well enough when I am being treated in a dismissive manner. I vowed to never give Star Credit Union my business and to inform others of the way he treats potential clients. It is disheartening to know there are individuals who are representing Star Credit Union in this manner to people of our community. Star Credit Union is potentially losing qualified customers due to David’s lack of customer service. The silver lining through this experience with Star Credit Union is my husband and I took our business to USAA and received a lower interest rate of 1.89%, excellent customer service, and a new car.

The loan officer David is such a joke! We put in an application for a car loan OVER a month ago and we have been calling to check up on the status and what a surprise still David has not even worked or looked at our paperwork that he requested from us. What a disappointment!!

This past year with them has been terrible. Lost deposits, human errors, and now shutting down for rain while all other businesses are open. So much wasted time, stress, and anxiety do to this group. I do not recommend. They have let the community down.

The best. Got my car with a low interest rate with very little frustration. Always been cooperative and responsive with my whole family. Been banking here since i was 16.

This workplace and their employees are thieves. They take advantage of elderly people and still act like normal people. This is very unprofessional. They stole money from my father in law and stated it was ok and did not even notify him of the transaction. Luckily he checks his account every night. The money they took from him added to my account and claim they cannot reimburse him. They are doing illegal transactions and should be held accountable. I will report them to the BBB as well. For new customers please do not use this credit union as they will take your money and perform illegal transactions.
