I love working with Union Bank as a lender. Kelly Deforge, specifically, is such a great wealth of knowledge. She's a great resource who is always willing to answer questions and help walk you through the process with a no-pressure approach. She's also extremely reachable and goes above and beyond to address concerns and answer questions that need answering in a very timely fashion.

Very difficult to work with this bank. I can never get a straight answer to my questions, and often don't get all my questions answered if I put more than one in an email. Everything must be done on paper, no ability to review and sign documents online, or make payments, or review details of the account. The loan department did not properly set time expectations, gave dates that they could not meet, and did not facilitate good communication between all parties involved in the loan process. UPDATE: Just refinanced and the home was appraised $110K higher than what Union Bank did two years ago. Another indication that they pushed a low appraisal value to force me into PMI.

Professionals all the way! Great Customer Service and mortgage arm. Did not use other bank services. Very conveniently located, and able to do most of the application over the phone.
