Pretty unhappy with how they treat their members. I opened an account, only to find up the person who helped me open an account, who I had help me due to having an issue opening one, opened up duplicate accounts in my name. Once I found out about the issue a over a month ago, I have called the call center 5 or 6 times within the last month to try and get it resolved, and every time I call I get a different answer, and today was the first time the supervisor (Richard) handling my case even reached out to me, and told me I have to go into a branch to take care of it. It shouldn’t take a month to resolve an issue they created, and costed me several hours of my time during that process. On top of that I was told to expect to wait another 7 to 30 days for my other issue to be resolved, a month after I was told the same thing. Really wish BECU would get their stuff together.
Edit: I still had nothing but trouble with them after I made this review. They asked me to reach out to their “social” team about this but they never followed back up with me. In was in the process of filing a report with the BBB when I finally saw the money come through. This bank is an absolute joke. I was really hoping to have better luck with them as I was shopping around for a new primary bank.

Edit: after waiting 45 minutes (person who called about my complaint said 25…not true), I sat down with a banker. Was pre approved for a motorcycle loan a few days prior and was ensured I would not have to put any money down. NOw, after sitting down to get the check, BECU came back and told me I need to put over $2,000 down. I said that was not an option for me so they offered a personal loan with a similar interest rate. I agreed to that. They ran my credit AGAIN and offered a far worse interest rate. Why? Because it was the second pull on my credit in less than a week - and my score went down 70 points. Their fault. I had no choice but to accept the personal loan, because if I went to the dealership and ran my credit again, it would have been even worse. I then tried to withdraw cash after the banker told me they raised my ATM limit. Couldn’t do it (after two attempts with the banker). I left because the dealership was closing and decided to pay with my debit. Dealership charged 2% on credit transactions, so I called BECU again and asked them to fix the ATM problem. Was promised the issue was fixed. Drove 10 minutes (each way) to an ATM. Didn’t work again. So, I went back to the dealership and paid the $120 fee. Not happy. Pretty bad service. Received a call back from BECU today telling me that they will TRY to do something about the poor interest rate. I should have listened to the dealership when they tried to tell me that BECU is almost always a negative experience for their customers trying to get a motorcycle loan.

Opened a savings account and deposited $50,000.00. No need for any contact, as the $ was sitting there. One day I applied for a credit line secured with a mortgage on our house. Our house is appraised at well over $1,000,000.00 and we dont owe anything on it. No calls back just a nasty letter from their office declining the loan. Stated that was based upon my credit report. My credit rating is 757, I think that qualifies as "very good". No explanation, no returned calls. Then I tried to close my savings account and move it. No assistance, no returned calls. Once they dump you, you become dead to these folks.

I've been a member of BECU for over 20 years and I receive really good customer service often but on a particular day that I came into the Burlington location, I received amazing customer service from Angela Fackler. She went above and beyond with her patience with me and all of my questions as I was growing to understand details in a particular topic. I hope for the world to grow in more people like Angela and BECU is very lucky to have her.
