HAPO Credit Union is by far the best Credit Union I have dealt with.
In fact it is the only Credit Union I will do business with as I had many problems with another. I also appreciate their notifying me concerning the possible GAP insurance refund as I paid off my vehicle two years early. Staff is outstanding at all branches.

I've only had a HAPO account for a few months, but they've been a local presence in town for as long as I can remember. I normally do my banking online, and have only been into the branch twice, the second visit today was for a simple cash withdrawal. No wait in line, and the teller was very friendly. I've read some of the other negative reviews, and find it funny that most of them are due to the reviewer not understanding how banking works, or the experience was due to their fault.

We moved to the Tri-Cities three and a half years ago now, and I needed to open an account locally. As I prefer credit unions and like that HAPO is local to this area and has Hanford roots I went in to one of their branches. The process was smooth and I left with checks AND a check card, which is the first time that had ever happened to me (printed onsite and not mailed). The branch was beautiful (I know, that doesn't really matter to my money but it did matter to me) and the people were friendly.
Since then, my wife and I have gotten loans and used other services from HAPO on multiple occasions. Even during the pandemic it was possible to get an appointment and get in, the service is always courteous and prompt, and I don't think I've ever stood in line longer than a couple of minutes (and usually not even that). To me, writing good reviews is crucially important to support businesses that are working hard to do it right, and HAPO has earned such a review from me.

Never doing business with HAPO Credit Union again. We had a vehicle loan through them and when asked to provide updated insurance information to them, we did (6 times!!!) and they still purchased CPI insurance on our behalf and charged us for it. We tried to get them to credit it back and no calls were answered, no emails were responded to. For 3 weeks we attempted to get them to do their job with no results. THEN, our auto pay payments went up (double due to the insurance they bought which we do not need because we are covered) and they would not let us stop autopay!!! Seems illegal and we are pursuing legal avenues to stop them.

HAPO is very easy to communicate with. I appreciate them extending credit to us to purchase our new vehicle. Whether it's calling on the phone or going into a branch the service is A-1.

We have all our accounts at HAPO. Even though they are always busy, they have some of the best customer service in town.
I always get my questions answered in a timely manner.
I would not bank with anyone else.

I am happy to recommend the HAPO Community Credit Union. They handled my car loan for the past five years, and I found them to be efficient, accurate, easy-to-use and negotiate with, and very professional. Never had a problem with my loan arrangement in the five years that I was with them. Highly recommend HAPO. They deserve your patronage and support.

Ruined my credit and tacked on Thousands to my auto loan due to failure to communicate and issue with my vehicle in a issue with my insurance coverage on a vehicle that was sitting in the shop due to an accident that disabled driving thr vehicle for Months. Worst customer service and transparency I have ever dealt with in over 20 years of banking.
Will never refer this bank to anyone.
