I bank here regularly. I had an important paper check come in from a trusted bank which means it shouldn't be held.. I gave it to the virtual teller, they informed me they needed to speak to their supervisor. They returned after several minutes and told me they needed to hold the check.. They did not specify for how long and further would not tell me if they were releasing funds. I asked for the check back and the teller started acting like they couldn't understand me and put me on another hold. When they came back a third time I demanded my check back. The teller further said she didn't understand what I was saying.. she then asked me how I was going to spend the money and what I was going to do with it.. I then informed her that that's literally none of her business and that I was depositing the check so why did it even matter.. I wasn't asking to cash it.. This took almost 20 minutes.. I finally sternly and loudly asked for my check back.. I was on a break from work trying to do this quick transaction so I could work late .. I ended up having to leave work before I wanted to and I took the check to Chase Bank who I also bank with and it was deposited in 30 seconds with no hold.. literally not one issue or question. The manager of Dort Federal later told over a phone call that the hold would be 7 days.. I felt completely taken advantage of today and nothing short of being scammed.

I was using dort for years, my brother came from Ukraine as a refuge and I wanted him to have an account with them also. He does not speak English yet, and they wont accept interpreter over the phone. He does not have a car and his card locked (for unknown reasons) I am not able to help him because I am out of town...The lady over the phone said he needs to show up to the branch and she hung up, may be she can give him a ride or something.
I think we are going to open an account elsewhere.
