No stars! I don’t use this term loosely, but it’s the conclusion I have come up with it. I believe I was racially profiled at 5/3 bank in Kalamazoo Michigan on East Michigan. I was withdrawing money from my account. I had proper ID, and have had the account for more than 7 years. Rebecca asked me, what I was planning to do with my money? Why did I have an account there and many other questions. She gave me my money…. Then Asked if I wanted an envelope? I had a panic attack in the bank. I asked her why she was asking me these questions? I told her, no one had ever asked me questions like that. I began to tear up. She said she was surprised, no one ever asked me. I could not tell if she was helping me or berating me. I told her if she had personal questions for me, then she should have recommended a private banker or an office. After I left she put a security hold on my account. Is this normal?

I'm torn because every interaction with every teller I've ever had here has been outstanding, truly. The actual bank itself though is terrible, especially the corporate customer service people on the phone. If you are the kind of person who needs access to your money and wants to be told the truth about where it is and where it is going and when it will be available, don't count on 5/3. They couldn't even mail my debit card to the right address. Terrible mobile customer service, even got hung up on. Lastly, the guy who set up my account told me it was impossible to overdraft and now I have over-drafted. The corporate customer service call center people don't know the knitty-gritty.

The customer service number on the back of the cards does not work for customer service. They try to sell you unrelated products that have nothing to do with customer service, then tell you the number has changed. The number i was given turned out to be a home security service. I then Google a customer service number that did work only to be put on hold for 15 min. Then transferred to another dept. They need to look at making access a little more accessible. I need to look for another bank

I found the bank that charges the highest fees, cost me $260 just in fees just to close the accounts, best $260 I ever spent.

This was my first time using this branch as I am new to the area, horrible service. Long wait times, even though there were 3 tellers behind the till. I am a social media influencer and wanted to take a picture of the ceilings and they freaked out, so don’t do it LOL. I tried cashing a check and they informed me it had already been cashed which is impossible because I physically opened it myself and am now hearing it’s an internal issue and they cashed my check instead of someone else’s. I do not recommend this branch, or 5/3 in general.
