So three employees at this branch tried stealing a $12k check from a 71 year old woman who won a jackpot from soaring eagle casino and the statement from the bank is that they were following protocol? Here is the quote"feeling mistreated as our employees’ actions were consistent with our process and the dual goals of serving our customers while also preventing potential frauds that can victimize both the bank and our customers.” this was their Answer to why they didn't cash her check which she legally won and could have been easily verified
by calling the casino , and they tried keeping/stealing it as stated in the news story . That so called protocol is now getting the bank sued in a federal district court but its not enough .. they need to be boycotted and exposed for their corrupt employees

I read other reviews from a few years ago and I agree that the staff and service at the Mt. Pleasant branch was dreadfully bad. Fifth Third offered a cheap business bank account and decided to try. Over the past year or two, I have had great service from friendly tellers to great bankers. I have accounts at 3 banks. So far, Fifth Third has done very well!

Everyone that I’ve met so far has been so nice and helpful. I enjoy this bank more than the other one that I had. They answered very question I’ve had with ease and kindness. I love this bank!

If you live in the area, go with a local bank instead of Fifth Third. I have accounts at four other banks in town and always have a better experience at the other banks. Staff at the counter aren't bad, but lines can get very long and it seems they've been under-staffed for years. The mortgage department is terrible, but that was a great incentive to pay our mortgage off early!

They will hit you with an insane amount of fees! Definitely not my first choice bank for several reasons. At least they answer the phones at the Midland branch. This Mount Pleasant location is nice enough when you go in to do, very time consuming, business. Just always expect to be there a while even with small issues.
