I called and talked with someone and came into the Arlington Rd location. The bigger blonde haired woman told me they were closing soon and told me I could go to another location (after sitting in her car for 35 mins) I said I can’t I’m at work across the street n said so what your telling me is you can’t help me then right and she just kept saying we close soon. But yet was in her car for a half hr her associate was actually doing her job and helping someone else. RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL & DOESN’T CARE ABOUT HELPING PEOPLE. Only there for a paycheck and to leave right when they close instead of doing her job. I did talk w/ the Dist Mgr who was very nice as well as the ASM at V Odom who helped me the next day so go to that location not Arlington Rd.

Service is slow. They tell you a specific amount of the "Loan"... Give you no other option than direct deposit and then with absolutely zero notice they STEAL a portion directly back. Claiming it's a charge for direct deposit.

I don't normally write online reviews for companies, but the customer service I received today was by far the worst that I have ever experienced. If you need money fast in an emergency situation this is a great place to go as long as you have a job and a bank account. HOWEVER, some of the staff members are extremely rude. For example, today I walked in to take out a simple $100 loan after being a customer of this company for over 3 years. The girl who helped me was just as awful as she has been in the past. She yells at me because I made a few late payments and tells me that the "lender" may chose to decline my loan for this reason. First off, why would they? They get paid every time I take out a loan and they make $30 for every $100s I borrow. Even if the "lender" does chose to decline my loan, it has nothing to do with CheckSmart. So if and when that day comes, we can address this then. I did not view her threat as helpful in any way and it really seemed like she was just letting off steam on someone who she thought she could disrespect easily. I understand that certain jobs are stressful and sometimes you have to tell customers things they don't wont to hear, but there was no reason for her to be so rude about it. This was extremely offensive to me because I have worked in customer service for almost 10 years and I know how to be respectful and I never give employees a hard time for doing their job. Even when I am upset I never direct my anger towards the employee, but rather the company. The entire time I was there I was very polite, patient, and understanding. But I guess some people don't appreciate that kind of courtesy. After the process was done she gives me my loan of course and counts the money out in front of me and then looks away. When I asked her "Is this all?" she nods and rolls her eyes at me. Yes, rolls her eyes at me. I came in very friendly asking if I would be able to take out a $100 loan (which if they could not give me the loan I would have understood and left without any problems). . All this woman had to do was take down my name, look me up in the system, click through a few generic computer screens, and count out $100 in $20 increments. This lady really needs to get off her high horse and realize that her job is nothing more than being a third party modern day loan shark. Do some employees not realize that the only reason why they even have their job is because of customers like me? Like I said, I understand that this place has been very helpful to me when I needed money quickly so I am not really complaining about the business. I just feel that some people use their job positions as an opportunity to put people down for whatever reason. Long story short, am I glad I got a loan? Yes. But one thing I cannot stand is unnecessary rudeness from employees at a company. If I could give my experience zero stars I would, but I guess one will have to do.

So I missed the very first payment on my third payday loan with these guys, and Nicole, who is (surprisingly, lol) the store manager, took it upon herself to disallow me from refinancing my loan. That's unacceptable. Now, when I called corporate on her and had them personally set up my refinancing arrangement, she went into the computer, defaulted my loan, and told the employees at the store not to serve me unless I was paying the full balance because "she would not accept it." That's just rude, disrespectful, and conniving behavior, and I'll make sure to tell anyone I meet to NEVER give Checksmart their business. I'd more quickly tell them to go to CashLand. At least they're pleasant and treat you like a human being.

I called here inquiring about loan services and was very surprised at The helpful nature of the employee that helped me her name was Akecia. She was very helpful and was the best part of my experience there. She answered all my questions extraordinarily and provided extra information and resources I was unaware of. If anyone is going to frequent this establishment I will recommend asking for Akecia personally! 10/10 service would recommend!

I had the pleasure of having Ms.Akecia who I might add is always at work(she deserves a huge raise or some sort of recognition for all she does) she helped me with all my needs and when I say she was efficient and polite she answered all my questions, gave me the correct information, helped me pay my bills and honestly it's the only time I don't have an issue, I'm not going to bash anyone but when you need ya check cashed bills paid etc make sure you go see her, She will get you together the 5 stars are for HER and The SERVICE she provides.
